Who needs this?
Since June 2025 the European Accessibility Act requires customer-facing documents from e-commerce, banking, transport and telecoms businesses selling to EU consumers to be accessible. Microenterprises (under 10 staff and €2m turnover) are largely exempt. Most PDFs we see fail the basics — usually because they were exported without tagging.
Common questions
Is my file really not uploaded?
The quick check uses your browser's own processing (pdf.js) to inspect the file locally — you can verify in your browser's network tools that no file leaves your machine. Only the optional full audit uploads the file, and it is deleted the moment analysis completes.
What does a failing result mean legally?
Our results are automated checks against PDF/UA (ISO 14289-1) — they are not legal advice and not a certification of compliance. They tell you what assistive technology can and cannot do with your document, which is the substance behind the legal requirements.
My PDF failed — what now?
Most failures trace to one cause: the document was exported without tagging. Re-exporting from Word with “Document structure tags for accessibility” enabled fixes the foundations for most simple documents. The full audit gives you a complete, prioritised fix list.
